The “Wet and Wild” Ride

Posted on July 25, 2024July 25, 2024

Don’t yawn yet!  After the deserts of Namibia, our Retirement Trip Part II, was in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.  Let the games begin with something to laugh and be amazed about besides politics.  Many of us know what a group of lions is called – PRIDE!  Hyena “clans” can be called a CACKLE. I guess it’s because when they vocalize it sounds like strange laughter. Giraffe groups can be called a TOWER. So many wonderful descriptions for the amazing wildlife but did you know that a powerful animal spending much of its time in the waterways is the hippopotamus? The group is called a BLOAT!  So, grab a snack and spend 10 minutes to watch a program of images captured on our trip. And try to watch to the end for a final fun moment with the PACK.

Thanks to the staff singing joyful songs in Setswana (language of Botswana) and the quiet of the bell frogs in the delta ringing their reminder that it’s time for bed. Also, to the musicians and songs “From Nowhere”, “Meeting You” by Brent Horsager and “Who Let the Dogs Out” by Baha Men
